Join our spiritual retreat!
RATL offers overnight retreats year-round at both RATL locations, The City of Refuge and Solomon’s Temple. Our overnight experience is designed to be a spiritual retreat, with volunteers participating in activities with residents. Activities include, arts/crafts, recreational time, Bible study, karaoke party, ice-cream social, and of course sharing meals together.
Volunteers can choose to attend a retreat during their school breaks throughout the year or for a weekend. For the weekend retreat, volunteers can stay either Friday night or both Friday and Saturday nights. Click here for the weekend schedule. If you stay for both nights, Sunday morning concludes with Feeding on the Street—a ministry which serves breakfast to the marginalized in one of Atlanta’s most depressed areas. Following Feeding on the Street, volunteers have the option of worshipping at the City of Refuge’s church service.
All ages are welcome to attend our overnight retreats. 5th graders and younger need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The program fee for the retreat is $99 per person, per weekend, and $40 per person, per week-day night. There is no program fee for children (5th grade and younger). The program fee covers lodging, all meals, snacks, and supplies needed throughout the retreat. Also, you’ll be mailed ahead of time a copy of Broken to Broken, a book written by our CEO, Jim Ellison, and a resource to help prepare you for your retreat.
